An Introduction to SLCN
This workshop provides an introduction to SLCN, a range of identification tools and some simple strategies to support the development of a positive communication environment.
Making Effective Use of Visual Support
This workshop looks at how you can make most effective use of visual support strategies such as visual timetables and task management boards, building in developmental progression across the key stages.
Developing Maths Vocabulary
This workshop is focused on the language used in Maths, highlighting potential areas of difficulty for children with SLCN and some simple strategy ideas to be used during numeracy lessons.
Questions, Questions
This workshop is focused on the development and use of question words. It provides a developmental approach to teaching question words and simple, visually supported strategies to support understanding and use of question words across the curriculum.
Social Communication Skills Groups
This workshop supports practitioners setting up small group targeted intervention for social communication skills. The workshop covers practicalities for running small groups, organisation of groups, a formula for running a successful group, ensuring transfer of skills into everyday situations and time to explore a range of commerically available programmes.
